Veteran Counseling in Parker, Colorado

Steadier ground after service — without being someone you're not.

Parker, CO — In-Person Telehealth Across Colorado [email protected] Call 720-399-3500

The mission ended. You're still standing post.

Leaving the service isn't just a job change. It's losing the mission, the team, and the role you trained to be.

Whether you're active duty, recently separated, or years into civilian life, that can leave a quiet strain underneath an otherwise functioning life. This is military-informed therapy that respects the culture you came from and helps you figure out who you are on the other side of it.

"After twenty years in the Air Force, I know what it's like when the structure that organized your whole life is suddenly gone — the mission, the team, the role you trained for. I work with veterans figuring out who they are on the other side of that. You don't have to explain the culture to me. I've lived it."

What service can quietly leave behind

Most people don't come in because something is "wrong." They come in because something feels off — and it's hard to name.

Always on

A body that stays alert even when you're supposed to be at ease.

Loneliness in a crowd

A distance from people that doesn't lift, even around family.

Nowhere to set it down

Carrying heavy experiences with no safe place to put them.

Composed, but full

Keeping your face steady while your internal world runs hot.

Capable, but far away

Seen as squared-away while feeling disconnected underneath.

It surfaces unannounced

Memories or reactions that show up without warning or context.

Who am I now?

Without the rank, the unit, and the mission, the question gets loud.

Running on empty

Irritability, numbness, or exhaustion that rest doesn't fix.

These don't always come with clear emotions attached. Often they show up as distance, numbness, irritability, or fatigue — and as PTSD, sleep problems, or strain at home that's been building for years.

Why this is hard to talk about

The military teaches composure, control, and responsibility. You learn to manage yourself so other people don't have to.

Over time it gets hard to slow down enough to notice what you're carrying — let alone explain it to someone who hasn't lived it. A lot of people worry that if they start talking, they won't know where to stop. You don't have to. We go at your pace.

How counseling works here

You're not expected to have insight, say the right things, or tell your whole story. We work slowly, practically, and with respect for how military life shapes communication, identity, and the way the body holds stress.

Start where it shows up

Sleep, stress load, relationships, reactivity — we work with what's actually in front of you now.

Work with the body

We look at how your system stays "on" and build ways to downshift without losing your edge.

No minimizing

You don't have to downplay what happened to make it easier for anyone. We keep it honest and contained.

What people often notice over time

Not overnight — more like small shifts that start adding up.

Less pressure to perform

Less internal demand to "hold it together," especially when you're worn down.

More presence

More room to stay present instead of braced — at home, at work, and in your body.

Emotions you can read

Clearer awareness of what you feel without getting swamped by it.

A steadier baseline

A growing steadiness in place of constant vigilance.

Not carrying it alone

A place where what you've carried can finally land.

More room off-duty

Permission to be yourself off the clock — without staying "on."

Not because anything was broken — but because the load finally had somewhere to go.

Common questions from veterans

Do I have to talk about combat or deployment to start?

No. We start with what's actually hitting you now — sleep, stress, the people around you, your fuse. You decide what comes up and when. Nothing gets forced.

Do you treat PTSD?

Yes — post-traumatic stress, hypervigilance, the sleep that won't come, the strain that's been stacking up since you got out. And if you'd be better served by a higher level of care, we'll tell you straight.

Do you take TRICARE or the VA?

We're private pay and can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. TRICARE Select covers out-of-network providers; TRICARE Prime does not. Details and the carrier breakdown are on our Rates & Policies page.

Will my counselor actually get military life?

Keith served 20 years in the Air Force. You won't have to translate the culture, the acronyms, or what the transition actually costs. Read his profile.

Can we meet over video?

Yes — in person in Parker, or secure video anywhere in Colorado. Handy if you've PCS'd, you travel, or you just don't feel like sitting in a waiting room.

Start without pressure

You don't need to know what to say. You don't need to justify being here. A brief consultation is just a chance to see whether this feels like a good fit — no commitment, no performance.
